A licensed mental health counselor, I have worked in a variety of settings for 13 years. I specialize in offering relief from stress and pain, and supporting my clients to discover that they have options and can feel hope and joy.
I focus on empowering and guiding clients to heal, thrive, and recover from depression, life transitions, self-esteem issues, stress, grief, abuse, anxiety, relationship and dating concerns, trauma, substance use concerns, and issues involving career, sexuality, and spirituality or religion.
I approach counseling from a nonjudgmental perspective, focusing on helping clients to accept themselves exactly as they are now, in each moment, while also being empowered to make long-lasting changes they decide are necessary to their wellbeing. I also utilize the Internal Family Systems (IFS) model, an evidence-based, mind-body therapy that helps people heal by developing compassionate awareness of protective and wounded inner parts of themselves. IFS therapy, among other techniques I draw from, gently and respectfully guides clients to free themselves of negative beliefs and behaviors; and can quickly ease and remove emotional burdens.
