LaSheka Shine is a proud native of New Iberia, Louisiana, who now calls Bossier City home. As
the Owner and Chief Executive Officer of LDS Consulting and Therapist Development, LLC, she
leads three thriving locations dedicated to advancing access, quality, and innovation in
behavioral health care. In addition to her entrepreneurial success, LaSheka serves with
distinction at the Department of Veterans Affairs, where she continues to make a meaningful
impact in the lives of those who have served our nation.
A dual alumna of Northwestern State University (B.S., Criminal Justice) and Grambling State
University (M.S.W.), LaSheka exemplifies the intersection of academic excellence and
compassionate leadership. She is also a devoted wife and mother of three, committed to
modeling integrity, service, and perseverance for her family and community.
LaSheka’s specialized training as an LGBTQ+ Affirming Provider and Bariatric Behavioral
Health Provider underscores her dedication to equitable, inclusive, and culturally responsive
care. Her leadership extends deeply into professional and community organizations. She
currently serves as President of her local chapter and Regional Area Coordinator for Sigma
Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc., President of the North Louisiana Chapter of Iota Sweethearts, Inc.,
and Board Member of the Iota One Foundation. Additionally, she is Chapter Historian for the
Shreveport Branch of the National Association of University Women, and an active member of
the National Association of Parliamentarians, Association of Black Social Workers (Shreveport
Chapter), and Black Girls in Social Work (Shreveport Chapter).
Recognized as both a Master Addiction Counselor (MAC) and a Certified Parliamentarian (CP),
LaSheka brings over 20 years of professional experience to her work in clinical practice, policy,
and mentorship. She serves as a member of the Policy Committee for the Louisiana Board of
Social Work Examiners and as a field instructor for multiple universities, helping to shape the
next generation of social work professionals.
