About The Host!
Dr Ackerman is an author and internationally recognized teacher of the concept of mindfulness. His most recent book, Me Myself and My Amygdala is available on Amazon and has helped to educate and support hundreds of people. Focusing on the amygdala and its connection to mindfulness, Dr Ackerman explains how the amygdala, often referred to as the brain’s “emotion center,” plays a key role in how we respond to stress, fear, and anxiety. Understanding its function can be a game-changer for anyone looking to improve emotional regulation and practice mindfulness more effectively. This book provides a fascinating look into how the amygdala processes emotions and how mindfulness techniques can help retrain this part of the brain, reducing reactivity and fostering greater calm and presence. By learning how to better understand and work with the amygdala, you can strengthen your ability to stay grounded, respond more thoughtfully to challenging emotions, and cultivate a deeper sense of well-being. Perfect for those wanting to enhance their mindfulness practice and take control of their emotional life.
