At Rhode Island Counseling Associates, we offer virtual appointments by either secure video (Doxy.me) or telephone.
Video Appointments (Doxy.me) Doxy.me is a secure, HIPAA-compliant telehealth platform that allows you to meet with your provider from the comfort of your home. No account or download is required. If you're having trouble connecting to your appointment, try the following:
Use a laptop or desktop computer if possible. While Doxy.me works on smartphones and tablets, a computer often provides the most reliable experience.
Restart your device if your camera, microphone, or appointment link isn't working properly.
Use an updated web browser, such as Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, or Safari.
Allow access to your camera and microphone when prompted by your browser.
Check your internet connection. If possible, connect to a reliable Wi-Fi network.
Close other apps or browser tabs that may be using your camera or microphone.
Join your appointment a few minutes early to allow time to resolve any technical issues.
Can't Find Your Appointment Link? Your Doxy.me link is sent in your appointment reminders by both email and text message. If you can't find it:
Search your email inbox for previous appointment reminders.
Check your text messages for your reminder, which includes your appointment link.
If you still can't locate your link, scroll down on this page to find a complete list of our providers' Doxy.me links.
Phone Appointments If your appointment is scheduled to be conducted by phone, your provider will call you directly at the phone number we have on file. If you have not received a call, please:
Check for any missed calls.
Make sure your phone is not set to automatically send unknown callers to voicemail or spam.
Be aware that your provider's call may appear as "Unknown," "Private," or "No Caller ID."
If you're still unable to connect with your provider after trying the steps above, please contact our front desk at 401-259-0340 or email us at [email protected] as soon as possible so we can assist you.
